Introduction to Bridge Inventory

Bridge Inventory can be used to develop a bridge inventory and inform stakeholders.

Transportation engineers want to know more about bridges because they directly impact the safety and efficiency of a transportation system. Therefore, they develop bridge inventories that provide crucial information about each bridge. The information gathered in these inventories provides a foundation for operations and maintenance activities that identify potential safety hazards, plan maintenance and upgrade projects, and prioritize funding for necessary improvements.

The Bridge Inventory solution delivers a set of capabilities that help state and local governments develop bridge inventories and inform stakeholders.
