Work with the dashboard

The dashboard shows the metric values of your project scenario. Use metrics to quantify, analyze, and compare scenarios. As opposed to plans, metric values in projects are not calculated. You must input the values manually. Projects use the metrics defined in the data manager, you cannot configure them per project. Projects don't support existing metric values. If there are existing metric values in your urban model, they are not copied when you create a project.

Add and configure metrics

Projects use the metrics defined in the urban model. You cannot configure metrics in projects. See Configure the dashboard to learn how to configure metrics in the data manager.

Access the dashboard

Complete the following steps to access the dashboard, where you can visualize and analyze the metrics of a project scenario:

  1. Open the project editor.
  2. From the scenario switcher in the header, select a scenario.
  3. Click the Dashboard button Dashboard in the header.

The Dashboard button Dashboard is hidden if there are no metrics defined in the urban model. See Configure the dashboard to learn how to configure metrics in the data manager.

If the dashboard is empty, add metric values. See Add metric values to a scenario below to learn more.

Note:

As opposed to plans, you cannot configure the project dashboard. Metric values are always represented as numbers. You cannot choose between different chart types or add icons. You cannot change the alphabetical order of the metrics in the dashboard. All metrics that have a metric value are visible in the dashboard.

Add metric values to a scenario

You can add dashboard metric values for the metrics configured in the urban model's data manager. See Configure the dashboard to learn how to configure metrics in the data manager. You must provide metric values manually, unlike when working with plans where the value is calculated based on building spaces and surfaces. Complete the following steps to add dashboard metric values to a scenario:

  1. Open the project editor.
  2. From the scenario switcher in the header, select a scenario.
  3. Click the Dashboard button Dashboard in the header.
  4. Click the Edit dashboard button Edit dashboard at the upper right of the dashboard side panel.
  5. Click the input field of a metric.

The field is focused and highlighted with a blue border.

  6. Provide the metric value.
  7. Press Enter on your keyboard.

Repeat steps 5 through 7 for every metric that requires a value.

  8. Click the Edit dashboard button Edit dashboard.

The metric values are saved. The standard dashboard view is displayed. All metrics with a metric value are visible in the standard dashboard view.
