You can use a city web scene with a selection of plans and projects of an urban model to share or present it to stakeholders and the public. You can also create interactive experiences using the city web scene in other Esri products, such as Story Maps, Instant Apps, and Experience Builder.
Create a city web scene
To create a city web scene, complete the following steps:
- Start ArcGIS Urban and open the urban model you'll use to create the city web scene.
- Click the Menu button
in the upper left corner of the overview.The side panel expands.
- Click Create web scene.
The Create web scene dialog box appears on the Web scene tab.
- Provide a title and, optionally, a summary.
- Click Next.
The Projects tab appears if the urban model contains projects you have access to. If no projects are available, skip the next step.
- Select the projects to be included in the web scene. Drag them to the box on the right side of the dialog box.
Note:
- The list contains all projects that are accessible to you.
- You can filter projects by the Status or Access parameter.
- Click Select all to select all projects in the list.
- Click Next.
The Plans tab appears if the urban model contains plans you have access to. If no plans are available, skip the next step.
- Select the plans to be included in the scene. Drag them to the box on the right side of the dialog box.
Note:
- You can filter plans by the Type or Access parameter.
- Click Select all to select all plans in the list.
- Click Next.
The Finish tab appears and shows the number of selected plans and projects.
- Click Create to create a city web scene.
The city web scene is created. After the process is finished, actions you can perform next are listed.
- Optionally, perform the following actions:
- Copy the URL of the web scene to share or embed it in an app.
- Open the web scene in Scene Viewer to review it or change the layer styling.
- Open the web scene detail page to review the sharing settings and item description.
- Create an app with Story Maps, Instant Apps, or Experience Builder.
- Click Done to close the dialog box.
- Project pins, study areas, and buildings colored by status
- Plan study areas colored by type with a name label
- Pop-ups for plans and projects with information about the plan or project
- Existing buildings (schematic, realistic, or both)
- Existing trees
- Custom base layers
The city web scene includes the following items:
Overwrite an existing city web scene
To overwrite a previously created city web scene of an urban model, complete the following steps:
- Start ArcGIS Urban and open the urban model you'll use to create the city web scene.
- Click the Menu button in the upper left corner of the overview.
The side panel expands.
- Click Create web scene.
The Create web scene dialog box appears on the Web scene tab.
- Check the Replace existing check box.
Note:
The check box is only displayed if you created a city web scene from that urban model earlier.
The Replace existing web scene dialog box appears.
- Click the check box next to the name of the web scene you want to overwrite.
- Click Confirm.
The Replace existing web scene dialog box closes.
- Continue with step 4 in the Create a city web scene section above.
View a list of exported web scenes
To view a list in ArcGIS Online of the web scene items you created in Urban since the October 2022 release, complete the following steps:
- Click the user avatar button in the upper right corner of the screen.
- Click My web scenes.
The ArcGIS Online portal opens in a new browser tab. Your list of ArcGIS Online content is filtered to only show web scenes created by you in ArcGIS Urban.
