Using List map , you can edit location data, delete features, and change feature geometries (as coordinates or Esri JSON geometry) on a Microsoft SharePoint list.
Note:
You are not required to sign in to your ArcGIS account to access List map; however, you are required to sign in to your Microsoft SharePoint organization. Also, your SharePoint tenant must be updated to October 2022 or later.
List map supports a SharePoint list containing coordinates or geometry data (Esri JSON format). List map also supports points, polylines, and polygons. When you select one or more rows on a list, a pop-up confirms your selection of rows, helping you to know how many rows are selected from the current page or view of the SharePoint list.
Note:
List map does not support a SharePoint list that contains only addresses. If you need to use addresses, you must first geocode the list that contains them using a Microsoft Power Automate template before enabling the List map pane.
Select location
To start editing a list, complete the following steps:
- Open Microsoft SharePoint.
- Access the SharePoint list.
- Click a row or rows in the list.
The List map button

Note:
If your SharePoint list has x, y, or geometry data in Esri JSON format, the List map pane opens with the selected rows displayed as features on the map. The map then zooms to the area where the features are displayed.
- If the SharePoint list does not have x, y, or geometry data in Esri JSON format, then through the Select location pane, you are prompted to update or specify columns that contain location data. The data is displayed as features on the map.
- If the SharePoint list contains data in Esri JSON format, make sure the SharePoint list column type is set to Multiple lines of text and not Single line of text. This ensures that the data stays intact during edits to features.
- To update, make selections in the Select location pane for the following:
- Location types—Choose Coordinates or Esri JSON Geometry.
- Longitude (X)—Select from the drop-down list.
