Viewing the district distribution

As you create district plans, Esri Redistricting contains a district distribution pie chart that allows you to view a visual representation of district demographics. The district distribution graph updates dynamically as you change the active district and the demographic category.

  1. On the Create ribbon, select an active district from the drop-down menu.
  2. On the Review ribbon, click District Distribution.

The District Distribution dialog box appears. The District Distribution dialog box displays a pie chart of the demographic distribution for the active district.

  3. On the Select District drop-down menu, select a different district.

The District Demographics chart updates to show the demographic distribution for the selected district.

  4. Select a category from the drop-down menu (optional).

The Select Category drop-down menu is only displayed if you have demographics from multiple demographic sets turned on in your Esri Redistricting session.

The District Distribution chart updates to show the demographic distribution by district and by demographic set (category).

  5. Export an image of the chart by clicking Export (optional).
  6. Select the export image dpi:
    • 96
    • 150
    • 300

The dots per inch (DPI) amount allows you to define the resolution for the export image.

  7. Select an export image file type:
    • JPG
    • PNG
  8. Click OK.

The Select location for download... dialog box appears.

  9. Browse to a location to store the export image.
  10. Update the name for the export (optional).
  11. Click Save.

The exported chart is saved to the image file in the output directory and format type defined above.
