Understanding the geography display level

The display level indicates at what scale each geography level (for example, county, tract, VTD, block group, or block) is visible.

Note:

The ability to modify the display level depends on the configuration preferences of your organization. If the display level is disabled, you will not be able to modify the visible scales for geographies in your plan.

  1. On the Create ribbon, slide the Display Level slider to change the minimum and maximum scales for the different geography levels.

A County-Tract-Block Group-Block plan will have three sliders. A County-VTD-Block plan will have two sliders. A Place-Block plan will have one slider.

The minimum and maximum scale ranges are determined by the location of the Display Level sliders. For example, regardless of the plan you have, the range from 0 to the first slider is the scale range for Block. The range from the last slider to the maximum scale is the scale range for County, or Place if using a Place-Block plan.
