Adding map contents to Esri Redistricting from ArcGIS Online

Within Esri Redistricting, you can interact with maps that others have shared and posted to ArcGIS Online. Using the Add Content feature, you can query ArcGIS Online for maps that have been shared by other users in the community.

Note:

Search results return only map services. Other content may be available on ArcGIS Online, however, only map services can be added to Esri Redistricting.

  1. Enable the Search panel:
    • Click the right arrow
Right arrow to expand the side panel
next to the scale bar to expand the side panel. Ensure the ArcGIS option is enabled.
    • On the File ribbon, click Add Content and select Search.

The Search panel expands and ArcGIS is enabled.

  2. Click ArcGIS Online Login
    ArcGIS Login button
to sign in to ArcGIS Online (optional).
    Note:

If your Esri Redistricting user name does not match your ArcGIS Account, you can update the user name and password to your ArcGIS Account.

When you sign in to ArcGIS Online, the search results will return both public results and restricted results, such as map services shared to only groups of which you are a member.

    Note:

You are not required to sign in to ArcGIS Online. If you do not sign in, the results of your query are public results. Once you sign in, you can click ArcGIS Online Logout

at any time to sign out of ArcGIS Online.

  3. Enter a keyword or place-name in the text box.
    Note:

Your search will return results that are public to all users of ArcGIS Online. To return results that are accessible to both the public and to groups to which you belong, you must first sign in to ArcGIS Online.

  4. Press Enter or click FindFind.

Results that match your query are displayed.

  5. As you hover the pointer over each result, you can see a brief description of each map service.
