Add project templates to the start page

You can customize ArcGIS Pro Intelligence by adding project templates to the start page. Adding project templates to the start page that contain items such as basemaps, data connections, tools, and models specific to your organization increases user productivity; the user clicks the project template and everything in that template is opened in ArcGIS Pro Intelligence ready to use.

Create a project template

Once you have created a project containing everything you want in a project template, complete the following steps to create the project template:

  1. In ArcGIS Pro Intelligence, in the Share group on the Disseminate tab, click Template Project Template and click Create Project Template Project Template.

The Create Project Template pane appears.

  2. Choose Save Template to File, and provide information in Item Details for the project template.
  3. Click Analyze to look for problems.

Errors and warning are listed on the Messages tab. Right-click a message to open its help topic or take corrective action in the software. Errors must be resolved before you can create the project template. Resolving warnings is recommended but not required.

  4. Once validated, click Create to create the project template.

An .aptx file is created for your project template.

Add project templates to the start page

You can use this template to create a project. The template is not automatically included in the From Template list on the start page. The first time you use the template to create a project it is added to the list. To incorporate the project templates so they appear on the ArcGIS Pro Intelligence start page, complete the following steps:

  1. Click Open another template on the start page and browse to and select the project template.

A new project is created using your project template, and the template now appears in the From Template list on the start page.
