Use additional materials

Additional Materials are resources or information that have been provided to mission members for use during the mission. These resources can be documents, images, or any other type of resource useful to mission members. If there are no additional materials provided for a mission, a message is displayed stating so.

Additional materials must be one of the following file types:

• .pdf
• .doc
• .docx
• .xls
• .xlsx
• .ppt
• .pptx
• .csv
• .jpeg
• .jpg
• .png
• .tif
• .tiff

To access any of these materials, first download the files to your device. Downloaded files are listed under On Device. Files that have not yet been downloaded are listed under Available for Download.

Download additional materials

You can download the selected files from the Available for Download list individually or you can download all the files using Download All. Downloaded files can only be accessed in the ArcGIS Mission Responder app, they are not visible in your device's internal storage or other storage areas.

To download a file, complete the following steps:

1. Open the ArcGIS Mission Responder app.
2. Select your mission from the mission list.
3. Navigate to the Additional Materials tab.
4. Select the additional material you want to download.
5. Tap the Overflow button.

   On iOS devices, there is no overflow button and the Download File icon is displayed at step four.

6. Tap Download File.

Your selected file appears under On Device.

Remove additional materials

Removing additional materials from the On Device list can only be done manually. Removed materials can be downloaded again at any time.

To remove additional materials, complete the following steps:

1. Open the ArcGIS Mission Responder app.
2. Select your mission from the mission list.
3. Navigate to the Additional Materials tab.
4. Select the additional material you want to remove.
5. Tap the Overflow button.
6. Tap Remove File.

Note:

On iOS devices, step five is replaced by swiping the item to the left, revealing the Remove File option.

Your selected file appears under Available for Download.

Access additional materials

You can access additional materials after they have been downloaded. Once they are downloaded, they appear in the On Device list. You can access additional materials using your device's preexisting capabilities, so a file may not be accessible if the device does not have the appropriate application installed to view the file.

Caution:

Files that have not been properly formatted for mobile use may not work, even if they are one of the above file types and your device has the required viewer.

To access additional materials, complete the following steps:

1. Open the ArcGIS Mission Responder app.
2. Select your mission from the mission list.
3. Navigate to the Additional Materials tab.
4. Select the additional material you want to access.
5. If given the option, select the application you want to use to open the file.

   The file appears on your device.
