Set the home location

Available with the ArcGIS Indoors Maps extension.

You can set a home location for Indoor Viewer if one is not already configured. If you deployed Viewer in kiosk mode, set the home location to enable anonymous use for visitors.

Set the home location for browser mode

To set the home location for browser mode, do the following:

  1. Use a supported web browser to open Viewer.
  2. Search for a feature or click a feature on the map.

    The info panel appears for the feature.

  3. Click the Set Home button Set Home.

    You can clear your home location by clicking the Remove Saved Location button Remove Saved Location next to your saved home location.

The home location is stored to the local file system of the device and is persisted across browser sessions.

Set home location for kiosk mode

To set the home location for kiosk mode, do the following:

  1. Use a supported web browser to open Viewer.
  2. Search for a feature or tap a feature on the map.

    The info panel for the feature appears.

  3. In the info panel, tap the Share button Share and tap Copy to Clipboard.
  4. Open a new browser tab and paste the copied URL.
  5. Type /kiosk.html before the question mark (?) in the URL.

    Before changes, the URL will be similar to the following: https://<your ArcGIS organization>.maps.arcgis.com/apps/indoors/index.html?appid=<appid>

    After changes, the URL will be similar to the following: https://<your ArcGIS organization>.maps.arcgis.com/apps/indoors/kiosk.html?id=<appid>

  6. Open the new URL for Viewer kiosk mode.

The home location is stored to the local file system of the device and is persisted across browser sessions.
