Configure Indoors for mobile device management

Available with the ArcGIS Indoors Maps extension.

Mobile device management (MDM) is a software suite that allows administrators to control, secure, and enforce policies on smartphones, tablets, and other devices. MDM is a core component of enterprise mobility management (EMM). Some examples are Microsoft Intune and Omnissa Workspace ONE.

Managed app configuration

Managed app configuration enables IT administrators to deploy app settings to managed Android and iOS devices using a Mobile Device Management (MDM) solution.

ArcGIS Indoors Mobile supports managed app configuration, allowing administrators to specify the URL of their ArcGIS organization within the app. This ensures a seamless and efficient sign-in experience for users.

Portal or organization URL

Indoors Mobile supports the portalURL key as a text string. If Indoors Mobile is installed on the mobile device through a company-managed store, it automatically populates the configured URL in the app and bypasses the screen where the URL is entered. The app presents the OAuth screen from your ArcGIS organization when the app is launched.

Note:

The portalURL key is case sensitive and supports only one URL string based on your platform. See the following examples:

  • ArcGIS Enterprise: https://<my Indoors portal>/portal
  • ArcGIS Online: https://<my Indoors org>.maps.arcgis.com
