Release notes for ArcGIS GeoBIM December 2022

The updates below have been made in ArcGIS GeoBIM.

General

General product updates include the following:

  • The ArcGIS GeoBIM app has an updated user Interface with an Explorer group below the Map widget.
    Note:

All old ArcGIS GeoBIM apps that you created are updated to the new user interface when you click the app thumbnail to view the app.

  • The Explorer group now includes two new widgets:
    • The Editor
    • The Elevation profile widget
  • The Map widget now has a 3D Analysis widget.
  • The ArcGIS GeoBIM viewer app now includes Issues charts.

Enhancements and bug fixes

The following enhancements and bug fixes were made:

  • The .prj or .wld3 file searches are no longer case-sensitive. This means that .prj or .wld3 files are now matched with their corresponding .dwg, .rvt or .ifc files regardless of the letter case of the .prj or .wld3 files.
  • This update introduces an improvement in the localization process for .ifc files, by reading and using the standardized IFC georeference information in the files. The parsed information is used to apply grid-to-ground conversion, and to have the IFC geometry using the Projected Coordinate System defined in the file and does not enforce an existing .prj or .wld3 file.
  • When you are using ISO 19650 standard guidelines for file naming, you can now enable ArcGIS GeoBIM to read universal projection and world files hosted on the Autodesk Construction Cloud with any ISO compliant name as long as each folder has a .uprj or .uwld3 file instead of the ESRI_CAD.prj file. This helps the geoprocessing service in the Tools page to accurately locate boundaries and issues.
  • Revit 2022 and 2023 issues created in Sheet view now have geometry.
  • Linked documents for issues created in Autodesk Construction Cloud are now linked in the Issue Details.

Known Issues

These are the known issues in this release:

  • Selecting features in the chart selects the issues on the map and table but changing the selection in the map or table does not clear the selection in the chart. When you need to change the selection on the map or table, use the clear selection (trash button) on the chart panel.
  • The "Select a feature to edit it" dialog still displays on the Editor when a non-ArcGIS GeoBIM feature is selected in the Map widget in the ArcGIS GeoBIM app.
  • The Shared with me filter might take a while to load if you have a large volume of projects on the ArcGIS GeoBIM projects page.
  • When you're viewing the Editor in a scene, the created feature for the Line Note layer can appear and disappear depending on zoom level and/or camera angle. The workaround for this issue is to modify the camera angle by tilting the camera up or down.
