The Document Explorer widget allows you to explore files and folders from Autodesk Forma (formerly Autodesk Construction Cloud) projects. The widget functions as a file navigation tool and lists documents in a drop-down folder structure. You can select a document with the Document Explorer widget and view its content with the Document Viewer widget.
Note:
The Document Explorer widget also supports Autodesk BIM 360 project files and folders.

Use this widget to support app design requirements such as the following:
- You want users to explore documents from Forma projects in an ArcGIS Experience Builder app.
- You want users to view supporting documents in projects.
Usage notes
This widget requires connection to a Map widget. The Map widget must contain a web map or web scene from an ArcGIS GeoBIM project. The Document Explorer widget uses information from the Accounts table in GeoBIM to identify the linked Forma hub and projects. It can also be connected to a Document Viewer widget.
To use the Document Explorer widget, you must sign in to an Autodesk Forma account.
The following are the two ways to use the Document Explorer widget:
- Link the Document Explorer widget to a Map widget to display projects, folders, and documents from the linked Forma projects.
- Link the Document Explorer widget to a Document Viewer widget to display documents.
When you include this widget in an app, the widget panel provides users with the following interaction options:
- Expand Autodesk Hub in the widget to navigate through project documents.
- Search for a specific document.
- Zoom to a document in the Map widget if the document is available in the map.
- Click a document, issue, or BIM project feature in the Map widget to filter the Document Explorer widget to only show content from the same Forma project as the selected feature.
- Display a document from the Document Explorer widget in a connected Document Viewer widget.
- Filter Forma project folders based on folder selections made in ArcGIS GeoBIM.
Note:
The Document Explorer widget does not support web maps and web scenes that only contain features created with the ArcGIS Pro BIM cloud connection.
Note:
The Document Explorer widget does not fully support small-screen device layouts.
