Feature layers can be used in projects to collect observations from imagery and video. See Add observation layers to learn more about observation layers.
To publish a new feature layer, complete the following steps:
- Browse to Publish New- Hosted Web Layers from the home page, or click Publish Layer on the side navigation menu.
When publishing a new observation layer in an Excalibur project, click the Observation Layer tab, and click Create New.
- Provide information for the following parameters:
- Provide a name in the Layer Name text box.
- Choose Points, Polygons, or Lines for the layer geometry type.
- Optionally, add the Excalibur Calculated Fields and Analyst Comments Field values to the layer.
You can edit additional layer information, add or remove fields, edit the layer styling, and edit specific layer settings after the layer is published.
- Click Create Layer.
The new layer appears on the Observation Layers tab and a notification appears verifying that the layer was created.
Configure an observation layer
You can configure the layer after it is published or at a later time. The Configure Observation Layer page appears immediately after the layer is published. To learn more about configuring an observation layer, see Configure an observation layer.
