Esri uses population and housing census data supplied by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI, or Instituto Nacional de Estadística, Geografía y Informatica) to create an advanced demographics dataset for Mexico.
The National Institute of Statistics and Geography is an autonomous public body responsible for regulating and coordinating the Mexican National System of Statistical and Geographical Information. The data provided to Esri is sourced from the 2020 INEGI Population and Housing Census, which provides a count of Mexican population and provides demographic, socioeconomic, and cultural characteristics. The data provided has thematic diversity and different levels of disaggregation.
