Introduction to Esri Demographics

Esri Demographics consist of a comprehensive set of demographic map layers, data variables, and services for over 170 countries and regions. The data categories available span demographic and socioeconomic information for these regions, such as population, income, households, housing, health, education, jobs, and consumer spending for a variety of products and services.

Esri Demographics include the following:

  • Esri standard demographics—Baseline demographics sourced from data provided by Michael Bauer Research GmbH that include consistent attributes and methodology. Because the variables are similar across these regions, users can compare global markets and communities.
  • Esri advanced demographics—For a limited number of countries, Esri also creates advanced demographics datasets sourced from data supplied by reliable data sources, such as the Australian Bureau of Statistics. Advanced demographics datasets often contain more data variables and finer levels of geography than those available through standard demographics. Advanced demographics can be used to perform more detailed analyses of an area of interest.
