Use the 3D Products template to create detailed 3D colorized point clouds, 3D textured meshes, and Gaussian Splat layers.
Capabilities
The 3D Products template has the following output product options and formats:
- 3D Point Clouds—SLPK, LAS
- DSM Textured Meshes—SLPK, OBJ, OSGB, 3D Tiles
- 3D Textured Meshes—SLPK, OBJ, OSGB, 3D Tiles
- Gaussian Splats—3D Tiles
Note:
3D templates and products are available with a Drone2Map Advanced license.
To process Gaussian Splat layers, a separate deep learning package installation is required and an NVIDIA GPU with CUDA compute capabilities of 7.5 or higher and 8GB of VRAM.
Download sample data
To download sample data to test the 3D Products template , complete the following steps:
- Go to the sample data page.
- Select a dataset you want to download, and click the Download this dataset link.
- Extract the files to a convenient location on your computer.
Create a project
To create a sample 3D product project, complete the following steps:
- Start Drone2Map.
- Sign in using your ArcGIS Online organization credentials.
- Provide a name for the project, and choose a location to save it or accept the default.
- Click Add Images or Add Folder, browse to the location of the sample images folder, select the folder or images in the folder, and click OK.
- Select the 3D Products template, and click Create to create the project.
- On the Home tab, click Options.
- Click the 3D Products tab, and in the Create Point Clouds section, ensure that SLPK and LAS are checked, and in the Create DSM Textured Meshes section, ensure that SLPK is checked.
Optionally, check additional format options or enable more products, and click OK.
- Click Start to begin processing.
When processing is complete, a 3D mesh and point cloud are added to to the 3D map and Contents pane. If necessary, change the view to the 3D map by clicking the 3D Map tab at the top of the map display. The Point Cloud layer will initially appear disabled in the Contents pane.
