Use the Custom template

The Custom template is designed for iterative work using the same settings across multiple projects and allows the creation of any Drone2Map products. You can configure specific custom project settings to be used each time rather than having to import a project template with each use.

Configure a default Custom template

A default project template can be configured for when the Custom template is used.

  1. In the New Project window, click the Settings tab on the ribbon.

The Settings window appears, and the New Project section appears by default.

  2. In the New Project section of the Settings window, browse to the Use this default custom template option, and click the Import Template button Import Template.

The Choose a Template window appears.

  3. Browse to the template you want to use. Choose it and click OK.

The chosen template will now be used any time you open Drone2Map and choose the Custom template option.

Create a Custom template project

To create a custom template project, complete the following steps:

  1. Start Drone2Map.
  2. Sign in using your ArcGIS Online organization or Portal for ArcGIS credentials.
  3. Optionally, configure the default custom template if you have not already.
  4. Provide a name for your project and choose a location to save it, or accept the default.
  5. Click Add Images or Add Folder and browse to the location of the sample images folder, select the folder or images within the folder, and click OK.
  6. Choose the Custom template.

The Choose a Template window appears.

  7. Browse to the template you want to use. Choose it and click OK.
  8. Click Create to create the project.
  9. Go to the Home tab, click Options, and review the checked options. Confirm that all processing options match the default template that you have defined for the Custom template. Click OK to accept the default settings.
  10. Click Start to begin processing.

View the results

When processing is complete, any products you have created are added to your map display and the Contents pane. If you have created any 3D products, you may need to switch to the scene view to view them.
