Use the 2D Products template

Use the 2D Products template to create high-resolution True Orthos and elevation products.

Download sample data

To download sample data to test the 2D Products template, complete the following steps:

  1. Go to the sample data page.
  2. Select a dataset you want to download, and click the Download this dataset link.
  3. Extract the files to a convenient location on your computer.

Create a project

To create a sample mapping project, complete the following steps:

  1. Start Drone2Map.
  2. Sign in using your ArcGIS Online organization or Portal for ArcGIS credentials.
  3. Provide a name for the project, and choose a location to save it or accept the default.
  4. Click Add Images or Add Folder, browse to the location of the sample images folder, select the folder or images in the folder, and click OK.
  5. Select the 2D Products template, and click Create to create the project.
  6. On the Home tab, click Options.

    On the Adjust Images tab, the Refine Adjustment box is checked.

  7. Click 2D Products, and click OK to accept the default settings.

    The Refine Adjustment setting will optimize the camera model further during the initial adjustment steps of tie point generation. This tends to lead to an increase in the number of tie points and more accurate products.

  8. Click Start to begin processing.

    When processing is complete, the full-resolution True Ortho and digital surface model are added to the map display and Contents pane.

View the results

To view the images, pan and zoom around the map and check the 2D products on and off to display the True Ortho and Digital Surface Model layer. Zoom in close to observe the high-resolution imagery produced with this template.
