Pixel Editor contains a set of tools that interactively obscure or redact a group of pixel values on the project orthomosaic, allowing for the omission of sensitive data.
Follow the steps below to use the Pixel Editor operations:
- Process a project with an orthomosaic output and confirm that it is selected in the Contents pane.
- On the Edit tab, in the Orthomosaic group, click the Region drop-down list and choose a draw tool such as polygon or circle. Draw the region to be obscured on your orthomosaic.
- Choose an operation from the Operations drop-down gallery in the Orthomosaic group on the Edit tab.
The Pixel Editor Operations pane appears with the options described below.
Pixelate
Obscure the region by resampling the region to an exaggerated pixel size.
The Factor option allows you to set the level of resampling to perform, in which higher values create more pixelation.
Check the Sharpen check box to sharpen the image that has been obscured. This will make the region less noticeably obscured.
Blur
Obscure the selected region with a blurred effect. Blur can also be used to smooth a noisy area.
The Factor option allows you to set the level of blurring to perform, in which higher values result in more blurring.
Check the Sharpen check box to sharpen the image that has been obscured. This will make the region less noticeably obscured.
Redact
Cut out the selected region.
- Click Apply in the Pixel Editor Operations pane.
- Repeat steps 2 through 4 until you have applied all your edits.
- Click Save to save your edits to the current orthomosaic, or click Save as New to save your edits as a new orthomosaic.
Pixel Editor Operations pane
The Pixel Editor Operations pane appears when you start any operation from the Operations gallery in the Orthomosaic group on the Edit tab. The Pixel Editor Operations pane is composed of two tabs: Operations and Edits Log.
The Operations tab contains operations and filters for the orthomosaic. The Apply button performs the operation on the selected region.
The Edits Log tab lists the pending edits that have been performed on the raster layer. The list is ordered from the most recent edit to the oldest edit performed. This is a read-only list; you can't change it.
The edits log list is useful for performing quality assurance on the edits. Each edit is shown and you can zoom to each one. To see details about an edit, hover over the edit in the list. To zoom to an edit, either click the zoom in button or double-click the edit in the list. Ensure that all the edits are correct before you commit them to the orthomosaic.
