11.2

The 11.2 release of ArcGIS Dashboards includes the following:

• Elements that have their data sources based on a map layer are no longer dependent on the map element. Deleting the map element whose data source is powering other elements does not delete those elements.
• The ArcGIS Arcade expression editor has been updated. The new editor features a dynamic expression writing experience with automatically populated code suggestions, a robust function search, and flags for unassigned variables and expression errors. You can use the new editor where you would use advanced formatting or data expressions. The Dashboard Formatting profile for Arcade has been split into separate profiles for each element that supports advanced formatting. The indicator element now uses the Dashboard Indicator Formatting profile, the list element now uses the Dashboard List Formatting profile, and the table element now uses the Dashboard Table Formatting profile.
• You can now configure a single dashboard to have two views, a desktop view and a mobile view. Each view is optimized for viewing on either a desktop or mobile devices. When a dashboard is opened, the optimized view loads. You can create a mobile view of your dashboard that includes the same elements as your desktop view, or new elements with different configurations. A dashboard's mobile view is meant to complement the desktop view to provide information to users on the go.
• Two new map options have been added for the map element. The Find my location option zooms and centers the map to the approximate location of the user's device. The Compass option shows the map's rotational angle and allows users to reorient the map to point north.
• Making a selection on a map's operational layer to initiate layer actions has been improved, allowing users to select features without the need for selection tools. When layer actions are configured, clicking features on the map now automatically initiates the actions. Optionally, you can also allow users to select multiple features using additional selection tools.
• Dashboard users are no longer required to sign in to download source data from an element.
• Dashboard accessibility has been improved, including better and more consistent keyboard navigation, focus management, and improvements to screen reader support. Additionally, you can now configure the accessible name for each element on your dashboard. The accessible name is the name read aloud when using a screen reader.

• You can now enable search for your list elements. Enabling search adds a search field to your list and allows dashboard viewers to quickly find list items.
• The follow feature action is now available when configuring dashboards. You can enable the follow feature action on elements configured to show features to cause a target map element to pan to and remain centered on a specific feature. If you previously configured the follow feature action in a dashboard last updated with ArcGIS Dashboards Classic, you must reconfigure the action in ArcGIS Dashboards.
• Elements with categories based on grouped values, whose data source is based on an ArcGIS Online hosted feature layer, can now target maps with pan, zoom, and flash actions.
• You can now enable data download for data-driven elements. You can choose to enable source data download to allow users to download a .csvfile that includes the source data of the element. For elements that display summarized data, such as serial charts, pie charts, and tables, you can also choose to enable summarized data download to allow users to download only the summarized data.
• You can now allow dashboard viewers to reset the dashboard after interacting with it. Resetting the dashboard clears any selections made on elements, returns the map to its default extent, and sets tabs and features back to their first value.

11.0

The 11.0 release of ArcGIS Dashboards includes the following:

• ArcGIS Dashboards Classic has been retired and is no longer available in the app launcher. All dashboards now open in ArcGIS Dashboards. For dashboards last updated in ArcGIS Dashboards Classic, it is strongly recommended that you open their data sources in Map Viewer and the dashboards in ArcGIS Dashboards to verify all functionality. Once verified, upgrade your dashboards by saving them.
• Esri recognizes the importance of adhering to accessibility guidelines and standards for all users of our products, including users with disabilities. An Accessibility Conformance Report for ArcGIS Dashboards is now available that describes the conformance level for accessibility features.
• The user interface for authoring dashboards has been updated to a unified and common look with the rest of ArcGIS Online. You can now find dashboard authoring tools, including dashboard settings, theme settings, subscriber content, and save options, on the side toolbar.
• For data-drive elements, you can now expand and collapse the data source table in the preview area when configuring an element to make more informed configuration choices. You can expand the data table while in any tab of an element's configuration window to view the data that is powering an element while simultaneously seeing the element's configuration preview.
• For elements that support actions, the actions configuration has been enhanced to be more intuitive. When configuring actions for an element, you are now presented with all possible actions and targets. You can turn actions on and off, making choosing action targets faster.
• The color picker has been enhanced to make choosing the right colors for a dashboard and elements even easier. The color picker now allows you to save custom colors to the color picker, so that you can use them elsewhere in the dashboard.
• A new layout panel has been added to the dashboard toolbar, allowing you to view and manage the dashboard layout. See all elements in one place, and manage them individually or by row and column.
• A new add element button has been added, allowing you to now add elements directly where you want them on the dashboard.
• When duplicating existing elements, they are now automatically added to the row or column the original element is in.
• Serial charts and pie charts are now able to target elements based on different data sources. When the source and target are based on different data sources, the relationship between these sources must be established with an attribute relationship.
• Sorting in serial charts has been improved for charts configured with a split by field. When a serial chart is based on grouped values with a split by, you can now sort the data points in each series in addition to the chart's series.
• A new data visualization has been added for dashboard authors. Use the table element to visualize data in a table format. Create a table based on grouped values or features. Tables also support advanced formatting using ArcGIS Arcade and can take part in dashboard actions.

10.9.1

10.9.1 includes the release of a new version of ArcGIS Dashboards. The previous version of ArcGIS Dashboards is now ArcGIS Dashboards Classic.

The URL for ArcGIS Dashboards is now <yourPortalURL>/apps/dashboards/. Dashboards created before this release automatically open with the new URL and embedded dashboards continue to work. It is recommended that you update your existing dashboards to the new URL by opening them in ArcGIS Dashboards and clicking Save​​​​​​​. To continue making changes to your previous dashboards without updating them to the new version, open them in ArcGIS Dashboards Classic

The new version of includes the following:

• The list and indicator elements can now take advantage of a new advanced formatting option to customize how data points render using expressions created with ArcGIS Arcade.
• Data expressions can now be created to power data-driven elements. Using Arcade, you can create feature sets to unlock new insights in your data by combining, modeling, and enhancing your existing data.
• You can now use selection-based display to configure an element to only render when a selection is made elsewhere on the dashboard. When configuring target elements for filter actions, you can enable the Render only when filtered toggle button to have users make a selection on the source element before the target visualization renders. A message can be customized on the target element when a selection is required.
• Pop-ups in a map element have a more consistent design between what was configured in the web map, including Arcade expressions and image rotations.
• You can take advantage of the new Map Viewer capabilities, such as group layers, clustering, and bookmarks.
• Additional supported data sources for elements include feature collections and CSV web layers. When adding a map with CSV web layers or feature collections, you can now use them as data sources for elements and use them to configure actions.
• New value formatting configuration options allow number patterns that are automatically formatted based on a user's locale to be overridden.
• When choosing colors for text, background, and other element components, along with the existing color palette and hex code field, you can also choose to enter RGB values or use HSL syntax.
• Percentiles have been added as a statistic type. When configuring an indicator, gauge, or serial chart element, you can select percentile, specify the percentile value, and whether you want discrete or continuous distribution.
• Improvements to the count statistic allow you to choose whether you want to count by value or distinct value when configuring an indicator, gauge, serial chart, or pie chart element.
• Additional date options have been added to the date filter. If you choose a relative date filter, you can now choose weeks, months, quarters, or years as time units.
• URL parameters have a new structure. URL parameters now use a hash (#) to append a parameter to your dashboard's URL instead of a question mark (?).
• A new dashboard setting has been introduced to allow dashboard authors to restrict element expansion. When turned off, the new Allow element expansion toggle button restricts dashboard elements from being expanded at run time.
• For line or smoothed line serial charts that are date-based and enable parse dates, you can choose to connect gaps caused by missing data points.
• When adjusting your dashboard's layout, you now have more precision when resizing an element. As you resize, you can now see the percentage of the screen that is being occupied by the element.
• Selectors have been redesigned and include new configuration options. The following are enhancements made to selectors:
  • Choose a presentation mode for your selectors to better display them on your dashboard. Choose from Inline, Accordion, or Dropdown presentation to efficiently display your selectors.
  • Add icons to your selectors to make them more distinguishable.
  • Use the Show reset option to allow users to clear their selector inputs at run time.
  • For category selectors that allow multiple selections, users can now click Show selected to narrow the list to only display selected categories at run time.
  • For the number selector and date selector, choose to allow both input options for users to input values.
  • For the date selectors that use the date picker, you can now choose to make including time optional.
