Before installing CityEngine 2026.0
Before installing CityEngine 2026.0, do the following:
- Verify that your system meets all Supported operating systems requirements and Hardware requirements.
- Ensure that the user has administrator privileges.
Install CityEngine 2026.0
Complete the following steps to install CityEngine 2026.0:
- Locate the downloaded CityEngine RPM file. Using your operating system's package manager, install the RPM as you would any other RPM CityEngine. For example: sudo dnf install <path to>/arcgis-cityengine-<version>.rpm in which arcgis-cityengine-<version>.rpm is the name of the RPM file. If the RPM file is in the current directory, replace <path to> with a single dot: ./arcgis-cityengine-<version>.rpm.
Note:
This command does require being run as root, either directly or by using the sudo command as shown above. - The RPM will show that the CityEngine package is being installed, as well as list any other dependency packages that may be required.Please note that most package managers will try to install any necessary dependencies automatically, however it may be necessary to contact your system administrator to install any that are not available automatically.
- The installation should now complete, and you can start CityEngine from either the desktop shortcut or from the terminal with the command: /opt/arcgis/CityEngine_2026.0/CityEngine.
