Draw a freehand street

Using the Street Creation tools Polygonal Street Creation tool, you can draw streets by freehand and create streets with curves and straight segments.

You can set street options in the Tool Options window Tool options.

Draw a street

To draw a freehand street, complete the following steps:

  1. Click the Polygonal Street Creation tool Polygonal Street Creation tool (or press G) on the toolbar and click the Freehand Street Creation tool Freehand street creation tool(or press Shift+G) in the Tool Options window Tool options.

    You can also click Graph > Freehand Street Creation in the main menu.

  2. Click and drag to start drawing a street and release when finished.

    The streets automatically snap to street segments (centerline) or nodes.

  3. Press Shift to temporarily disable snapping.
  4. Double-click a street segment to add a vertex at that place.

Node Rule File

Node rule file to be assigned to the street.

Re-use settings from neighbors

If enabled, settings are copied from neighbor streets, if available. If an existing street is extended, settings are typically copied from that segment.

Apply rule-based model generation

If enabled, model generation is automatically triggered.

Align terrain

Align the street with the terrain.

Intersect Segments

Create a new node at the intersection of segments.
