Merge nodes

In the Street editing tools Street editing tools, you can use Merge Nodes to merge multiple nodes into a single node. You can also move a single node to a new location and merge it to another node or segment by snapping to it.

To merge street nodes, click the Street editing tools Street editing tools and click Merge Nodes Merge Nodes in the Tool Options window Tool options or press C+Q. You can also click Graph > Merge Nodes in the main menu.

Use the Merge Nodes tool Merge Nodes in conjunction with the other tools under Street editing Street editing tools, the Edit Streets/Curves and Remove Nodes tools.

Merge multiple nodes

To merge multiple nodes into a single node, complete the following steps:

  1. Click Merge Nodes Merge Nodes (C+Q) and select the nodes to merge:

  2. Click the location to place the merged nodes:

    The selected nodes are now merged into a single node.

Move nodes

You can move or merge an existing node to a snapping feature or to any location.

To move a node and merge it with an existing one, complete the following steps:

  1. Click Merge Nodes Merge Nodes (C+Q), make sure to turn on the Snapping toggle button, and click the node to move and merge:

  2. Drag the node to the feature to snap to:

Tool options

The Merge Nodes tool options Tool options include the following:

Snapping

Turn snapping options on and off. Select one or multiple nodes and do one of the following:

  • Snap to street edges and vertices, guides, as well as line extensions.
  • Press Shift to temporarily turn on or off snapping.
