Work with multiselections or lead selections

When you create multiselections in scenes in CityEngine, the highlighted color of the lead selection object is different than the color of the other selected objects. This is because the lead selection is used for operations in which additional information is needed. For example, the subtract tool uses the lead selection to determine whether object A should be subtracted from object B or object B from object A.

The following image uses the subtract tool in which the rectangle is the lead selection:

Keep in mind the following considerations:

  • The last object selected usually becomes the lead selection.
  • The lead selection is highlighted with a lighter blue color.
  • To change the lead selection in an existing selection, press Shift and .
