Align static models to terrain

The Align Static Models to Terrain tool aligns static models to a chosen terrain in the scene or defaults to y=0 level. All currently selected static models and all static models of the selected layers are aligned. You can add an optional offset.

To align the static models to terrain, click Terrain > Align Static Models to Terrain in the main menu. The Align Static Models to Terrain dialog box appears with the following options:

Heightmap

The terrain to align the shapes. All terrain layers and all elevation attribute layers are listed in the drop-down menu.

Offset

Specifies how far the model is placed above or below after alignment.

Note:

The model is not draped onto the terrain. The point of origin only is placed exactly onto the terrain (offset not included). Therefore, other parts of the model may disappear in the terrain or hover above it.
