Available with Business Analyst license.
ArcGIS Business Analyst Enterprise requires at least two ArcGIS Server sites: one site for the hosting server, and one site for ArcGIS GeoEnrichment Server. A complete Base ArcGIS Enterprise deployment with the following software components is required:
- ArcGIS Server, configured as the hosting server for your portal.
- ArcGIS Enterprise portal
- ArcGIS Data Store, configured as a relational data store.
- Two installations of ArcGIS Web Adaptor. One installation handles traffic to your ArcGIS Enterprise portal and the other handles traffic to your hosting server.
In addition, a second dedicated ArcGIS Server site is needed for hosting ArcGIS GeoEnrichment Server. The second machine must have the following software components:
- ArcGIS Server and ArcGIS Web Adaptor. The server must be federated to your portal and authorized with the ArcGIS Server Advanced and Business Analyst Enterprise roles.
- ArcGIS GeoEnrichment Server
- The GeoEnrichment Server setup cannot be installed on the same machine as the ArcGIS Data Store.
- GeoEnrichment Server cannot be designated as the hosting server.
In this configuration, users access your web GIS resources through the portal website. Administrators and publishers can access ArcGIS Server directly for their purposes.

Set up Business Analyst Enterprise
The following sections outline the setup process for each machine. The Base ArcGIS Enterprise deployment can be on a single machine or distributed across multiple machines. The steps below are in the context of a single machine.
Set up Machine 1
The first machine hosts software components for the Base ArcGIS Enterprise deployment. To set up Machine 1, you will complete the following:
- Install or upgrade ArcGIS Enterprise software to the latest version.
- For a single-machine site, use ArcGIS Enterprise Builder. This installs and configures all four ArcGIS Enterprise software components and provides access to the ArcGIS Enterprise portal and Server Manager.
- Install Business Analyst Web App and do the following:
- Manage licenses.
- Update redirect URIs.
- Publish helper services, including any of the following:
- Routing and network utility services. These services support drive-time, walk-time, and distance-based sites.
- A geocode service that supports POI searches and address geocoding in Business Analyst.
- ArcGIS Online helper services for geocoding and street networks are also supported.
Note:
Helper services can be published to ArcGIS Server on either machine and shared with the organization.
Machine 2
The second machine hosts GeoEnrichment capabilities and data packs. To set up Machine 2, you will complete the following:
- Install ArcGIS Server.
- Authorize ArcGIS Server with the Business Analyst Enterprise role.
- Install ArcGIS Web Adaptor (IIS).
- Federate ArcGIS Server to your ArcGIS Enterprise portal.
- Install and configure GeoEnrichment Server.
- Install data packs.

Checklist of required licenses
The licenses required to authorize the software are as follows:
- For ArcGIS GeoEnrichment Server, you need an ArcGIS GIS Server Advanced role, along with the ArcGIS Business Analyst Enterprise role.
- For routing services, you need ArcGIS Network Analyst (server extension) and ArcGIS Business Analyst Server N America (server extension formerly called ArcGIS Business Analyst NA for Server), which enables StreetMap Premium extension for North America.
- For the geocoding service, you need ArcGIS Business Analyst Server N America (server extension formerly called ArcGIS Business Analyst NA for Server) to enable StreetMap Premium for North America. ArcGIS Pro also requires StreetMap Premium North America to be enabled in order to share the locator as a service.
- For ArcGIS Pro, you need three named user licenses.
- For ArcGIS Business Analyst Web App, you need 50 named user licenses.
Verify licensing of ArcGIS Business Analyst Enterprise role
To verify that ArcGIS Server on Machine 2 is licensed for the Business Analyst Enterprise role, go to https://<Machine2>/<wedadaptor>/manager/authorization.html. The ArcGIS Business Analyst Enterprise role should be listed and is required for GeoEnrichment to run.
The ArcGIS Network Analyst extension and ArcGIS StreetMap Premium North America extension are required on ArcGIS Server to configure routing services. The ArcGIS StreetMap Premium North America extension is required on ArcGIS Server to share the address locator from ArcGIS Pro as a geocode service.
