Available with Business Analyst license.
Business Analyst Enterprise requires two ArcGIS Server machines. First, a complete base deployment with all software components is required:
- ArcGIS Server—configured as the hosting server for your portal.
- ArcGIS Enterprise portal
- ArcGIS Data Store—configured as a relational data store.
- ArcGIS Web Adaptor—two installations. One installation for traffic to your ArcGIS Enterprise portal and another for traffic to your hosting server.
In addition, a second dedicated ArcGIS Server is needed to install GeoEnrichment Server.
- ArcGIS Server and ArcGIS Web Adaptor installations. The server must be federated to the your portal and licensed with the Business Analyst Enterprise role.
- The GeoEnrichment Server setup requires a Microsoft Windows operating system.
- The GeoEnrichment Server setup cannot be installed on the same machine as the ArcGIS Data Store.
- GeoEnrichment Server cannot be designated as the hosting server.
In this configuration, users access your web GIS resources through the portal website. Administrators and publishers can access ArcGIS Server directly for their purposes.
Steps for setting up Business Analyst Enterprise
Machine 1
- Install or upgrade ArcGIS Enterprise software to the latest version.
- For a single machine site, use the ArcGIS Enterprise Builder.
This installs and configures all four ArcGIS Enterprise software components and provides access to the ArcGIS Enterprise portal and Server Manager.
Note:
Using ArcGIS Enterprise Builder is not recommended for public production environments. Its limitations include not being able to configure a DNS alias.
- For a single machine site, use the ArcGIS Enterprise Builder.
- Install Business Analyst Web App and do the following:
- Publish helper services, including any of the following:
- Routing and network utility services can be published for use with Business Analyst. These services support driving and walking study areas.
- A geocode service can be published to support place searches and address geocoding in Business Analyst.
Helper services can be published to ArcGIS Server on either machine and shared with the organization.
- ArcGIS Online helper services, for geocoding and street networks, are also supported.

Verifying the ArcGIS Business Analyst Enterprise role is licensed
To verify that ArcGIS Server on machine 2 is licensed for the Business Analyst Enterprise role, go to https://<Machine2>/<wedadaptor>/manager/authorization.html. The ArcGIS Business Analyst Enterprise role should be listed and is required for GeoEnrichment to run.
The ArcGIS Network Analyst extension and ArcGIS StreetMap Premium North America extension are required on ArcGIS Server to configure routing services. The ArcGIS StreetMap Premium North America extension is required on ArcGIS Server to share the address locator from ArcGIS Pro as a geocode service.
