Introduction to Damage Assessment

Damage Assessment can be used to collect initial property damage and other impacts immediately after a natural disaster or catastrophic incident.

It provides a rapid damage assessment that helps government agencies prioritize activities undertaken by emergency management agencies to stabilize critical infrastructure, minimize health and safety threats and restore services in a community. The initial damage assessment precedes the Joint Preliminary Damage Assessment (PDA) conducted with Federal, State and Local officials after a disaster declaration is made. Damage Assessment is typically implemented by emergency management agencies that want to quickly understand the impact of a natural disaster or catastrophic incident and immediately assign resources to appropriate response and recovery activities.

The Damage Assessment solution delivers a set of capabilities that help you conduct an initial damage assessment and monitor the impact on residential buildings, commercial structures and public facilities.
