In this topic, you'll learn how to update your currently deployed and configured Watch Center solution to use a new version. Prior to deploying the new version of the Watch Center solution, read and follow this topic to update successfully.
New versions of solutions are routinely released. They may include new capabilities, enhancements to existing capabilities, support for new ArcGIS software versions, and bug fixes.

Updating the solution
The Watch Center solution utilizes ArcGIS Velocity to process data in real-time. As a result, additional steps may be required before the solution can be updated.
When updating the solution, complete the following steps before deploying a new version:
- Verify that you are signed in to your ArcGIS organization and browse to the ArcGIS Velocity app.
- Using the site menu, click Feeds.
- Stop all active feeds.
- Using the site menu, click Real-Time.
- Delete the Watch Center analytic.
- Using the site menu, click Big Data.
- Delete the Create Watch Areas analytic.
- Using the site menu, click Layers.
- Delete the following spatio-temporal layers:
- Watch_Areas_{solution_item_id} (Map image layer)
- Watch_Areas_{solution_item_id} (Feature layer)
- Watch_Alerts_{solution_item_id} (Map image layer)
- Watch_Alerts_{solution_item_id} (Feature layer)
Once all feeds are stopped and analytics and output spatiotemporal layers are deleted, deploy the new version of Watch Center from the Solutions app, and complete the Configure feeds and analytics and Share with users sections of the Configure Watch Center topic.
Note:
If an app is deployed with the new version of the solution, the previous version of the app can be deleted. To learn more about general guidance for updating to a new solution version.
