Manage a deployed solution in ArcGIS Online

You can use the  ArcGIS Solutions app to manage solutions that you deployed to your organization. You can also manage a deployed solution that you do not own, but note that you must be assigned a default administrator role or a custom role that includes the administrative privileges to manage all content owned by organization members.

Note:

Viewing solution diagrams, renaming items, and deleting solutions are not supported on smaller devices.

View management options

From the solution’s deployment page, you can view the diagram and rename items. You can also permanently delete a solution and all its items.

To view management options, complete the following steps:

  1. Sign in to your ArcGIS Online organization.
  2. Click the Apps button Apps in the header of the site and click Solutions.
  3. Click the Deployments tab.

    All your deployed solutions appear on this page. You can manage a deployed solution from a solution card’s drop-down menu or by opening the deployed solution.

  4. Click a solution card to open the deployed solution page.

    Management options appear on the right.

View diagram

The solution diagram provides an interactive view of all items in a solution and their dependencies. It offers a clear, visual representation of your solution’s architecture, making the solution easier to understand, manage, and customize.

You can use the solution diagram to answer the following questions:

  • Which maps or apps use a specific feature layer?
  • Which web maps power a specific dashboard?

To explore the solution diagram, complete the following steps:

  1. From the deployed solution page, click View diagram.

    The diagram dialog box opens. All solution items are listed on the left in an expandable list.

  2. Click an item in the diagram or from the list.

    The selected item’s dependencies are highlighted in the diagram.

  3. Turn on Filtered view to focus on the items related to your selection.

Rename items

Creating meaningful names for items associated with a specific solution deployment can make it easier for you to identify them in your content, especially if you have deployed the same solution more than once. With the ArcGIS Solutions app, you can quickly rename all items at the same time.

Note:

To rename items owned by another user, you must have administrative privileges to update content.

To rename the items for a deployed solution, complete the following steps:

  1. From the deployed solution page, click Rename items.

    You have the option of adding a prefix, a suffix, or both to your solution item names.

  2. Type a prefix or suffix into the Prefix or Suffix text box.
  3. Expand the content in the item list to preview the changes, and then click Apply to accept them.

Delete a solution

When you delete a deployed solution, all the items and groups deployed with the solution are permanently deleted, except for items that are also used in other deployments. These shared items remain in the solution’s folder. If there are no shared items, the folder is also deleted.

Note:

To delete a deployed solution owned by another user, you must have administrative privileges to delete content.

To delete a deployed solution, complete the following steps:

  1. From the deployed solution page, click Delete solution.

    The Delete dialog box lists all solution items and specifies which items are deletable.

  2. Click Permanently delete.
