ArcGIS Solutions for Online

ArcGIS Solutions align with your business needs, transform your use of ArcGIS, and help maximize your investment in location-based data and technology. They leverage the power of ArcGIS and your authoritative data to help you improve operations, gain new insight, and enhance services.

ArcGIS Solutions provide industry-specific configurations for ArcGIS that are designed to meet key business requirements and support common workflows in your organization. Each solution includes one or more applications, surveys, maps, feature layers, and ArcGIS Pro projects that can be configured to meet your needs.

Requirements

The ArcGIS Solutions app is used to deploy a solution in your ArcGIS Online organization. Before deploying an ArcGIS Solution, ensure you meet the minimum system requirements.

Browsers

The ArcGIS Solutions app is supported on the latest versions of the following browsers:

  • Google Chrome
  • Microsoft Edge
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Safari
Note:

Internet Explorer 11 and Edge Legacy are not supported.

User types

To deploy an ArcGIS Solution, you must have a Creator or GIS Professional user type.

The ArcGIS Solutions app uses the language setting in your ArcGIS user profile to determine which language is used in the ArcGIS Solutions app.

Note:

Content deployed by the ArcGIS Solutions app may not be localized.

Deploy an ArcGIS Solution

The ArcGIS Solutions app is accessible in the app launcher when you sign in to your ArcGIS Online organization.

To deploy an ArcGIS Solution, complete the following steps:

  1. Sign in to your ArcGIS organization.
  2. Click the Apps button Apps in the header of the site and click Solutions.
  3. Browse the gallery of ArcGIS Solutions by industry or search for a keyword.
  4. Hover over a solution and click View Details to learn more about it. When you decide to deploy a solution, click Get Now.

    Tip:
You can deploy one or more solutions at the same time. Each solution is accessible on the My Solutions tab when it finishes deploying.

  5. If prompted, search for a spatial reference by name or well-known ID (WKID). Click the spatial reference and click Deploy.
    Note:
Choosing the appropriate spatial reference is an important step when you plan to collect high-accuracy data or precise measurements are needed. If you specify a spatial reference in the ArcGIS Solutions app, it will be applied to every feature layer included in the solution.
  6. Once deployment is complete, hover over the solution and click Open.

The ArcGIS Solutions app creates all the ArcGIS items included with the solution and adds them to a new folder in your content. The app also creates a solution item that summarizes the content included and shows the relationship between items. The solution item will have an ArcGIS Solution badge signifying that it is an Esri supported solution.

Delete an ArcGIS Solution

The ArcGIS Solutions app can be used to delete a previously deployed ArcGIS Solution. When you delete a solution, all of the items deployed in your ArcGIS Online will be deleted. Any empty folder or group associated with the solution will also be deleted.

To delete a deployed ArcGIS Solution, complete the following steps:

  1. Sign in to your ArcGIS organization.
  2. Click the Apps button Apps in the header of the site and click Solutions.
  3. Click My Solutions.
  4. Hover over the solution and click Delete.
    Note:
Solutions deployed prior to the April 2021 release of the ArcGIS Solutions app can not be deleted using the app and the command will be disabled. You can instead delete solution items in your content within your ArcGIS organization.
  5. Click Confirm Deletion.
    Note:
Items referenced by another solution will not be deleted.
