ArcGIS Solutions for ArcGIS Enterprise 10.5–10.8.1

ArcGIS Solutions align with your business needs, transform your use of ArcGIS, and help maximize your investment in location-based data and technology. They leverage the power of ArcGIS and your authoritative data to help you improve operations, gain new insight, and enhance services.

ArcGIS Solutions provide industry-specific configurations for ArcGIS that are designed to meet key business requirements and support common workflows in your organization. Each solution includes one or more applications, surveys, maps, feature layers, and ArcGIS Pro projects that can be configured to meet your needs.

The ArcGIS Solutions Deployment Tool can be used to deploy an ArcGIS Solution in your ArcGIS Enterprise 10.5 through 10.8.1 portal. Before deploying an ArcGIS Solution, ensure you meet the minimum system requirements.

ArcGIS Pro

The ArcGIS Solutions Deployment Tool is supported on the following:

  • ArcGIS Pro 2.6–2.9 (Basic, Standard, or Advanced)

User types

To deploy an ArcGIS Solution, you must have a Creator or GIS Professional user type. A level 2 member is required for ArcGIS Enterprise 10.7 and earlier.

Deploy an ArcGIS Solution

The ArcGIS Solutions Deployment Tool is accessible on the share tab when you open ArcGIS Pro.

To deploy an ArcGIS Solution, complete the following steps:

  1. Start ArcGIS Pro and create or open a project.
  2. On the Share tab, in the Deploy group, click ArcGIS Solutions.
  3. Double-click Sign in to ArcGIS organization in the Tasks pane and click the Finish button.
ArcGIS Solutions are deployed in your active portal.
  4. Double-click Deploy an ArcGIS Solution in the Tasks pane.

A blue information icon next to a solution means a new version of the solution is now available. You can select the solution and click the Deploy button to deploy the new version in your portal.

  5. Select one or more ArcGIS Solutions and click Deploy.

Once deployment is complete, click the green check mark next to the solution to review it in your ArcGIS portal. A red x next to a solution means the deployment failed. Hover over the error icon to see a ToolTip providing more information about why the deployment failed. In some cases, attempting to deploy the solution again will complete successfully.

  6. Click the Finish button.

The ArcGIS Solutions Deployment Tool Add-In creates all the ArcGIS items included with the solution and places them in a folder you designate in your content.

Deployment options

The ArcGIS Solutions Deployment Tool has several options that can be accessed in the Options menu Options in the Deploy an ArcGIS Solution task.

Use Existing Items In The Organization

By default, if an item has already been deployed in the portal, it will not be re-created when deploying a new item. If you need to create another version of a solution in your portal, disable this option.

Use Organization's Default Basemap

By default, web maps created during deployment will use the basemap configured for the solution. To use your portal's default basemap, enable this option.

Add GPS Metadata Fields

When enabled, feature layers created during the deployment will have additional fields that can be used by ArcGIS Collector to capture GPS metadata when editing point features.

Spatial Reference

Specify the output spatial reference of feature layers created during the deployment. By default, the output spatial reference is WGS 1984 Web Mercator (Auxiliary Sphere).
