Use Election Results

The Election Results solution delivers a set of capabilities that help you organize map-based election results, share results for each elected office or proposal, and communicate voter turnout for one or more jurisdictions.

In this topic, you will learn how to use the solution by assuming the role of a user and performing the following workflows.

Explore election results

In this workflow, you will assume the role of a resident who wants to explore the results of an election in your community.

  1. In a browser, browse to the Election Results Dashboard app.
  2. In the left panel, under Elected Office, use filters to explore additional contests.

Both the map and the results graph at the bottom update when the contests are selected.

  3. If you are exploring a ranked choice voting contest, use the Round selector to view the results for the contest after each round.

By default, the results for the final round display. As you slide the round filter, both the map and results graph update.

  4. Select Municipality from the Jurisdiction Type drop-down list.

Both the map and the Elected Office filter update to display contests by municipality rather than precinct. You can use Election Results to display results by any jurisdiction type, such as county, municipality, or precinct.

  5. Select a municipality on the map.

In the pop-up, candidates are sorted by the number of votes received from this municipality for the selected elected office.

  6. Select a municipality from the Jurisdiction drop-down list.

The map, results graph, and voter turnout metrics update to display results for the selected municipality.

  7. Click the Proposal tab at the bottom of the dashboard.
  8. Explore proposal results using the left panel filters and the map.
  9. Click the Voter Turnout tab at the bottom of the dashboard.
  10. Explore voter turnout and voting method metrics using the left panel filters and the map.
    Note:

On a mobile device, voter turnout information is displayed on two tabs: Voter Turnout and Voting Method.
