Geonames Locator can be used by intelligence groups within military and service organizations to define a glossary of local nomenclature for named places.

Configure the Geonames Locator Project
The Geonames Locator solution includes an ArcGIS Pro project you can use to familiarize yourself with the solution and create a custom locator. When you are ready, you can configure the Geonames Locator Project and begin.
To configure the Geonames Locator Project, complete the following steps:
- Sign in to your ArcGIS organization and browse to the Geonames Locator Project desktop application template.
- From the item page, click Download.
- Unzip the downloaded folder, and then from the unzipped folder, open the ArcGIS Pro project.
- If you do not see the Catalog pane, from the View tab, in the Windows group, click Catalog Pane.
- In the Catalog pane, expand the Tasks folder and then double-click the Geonames Locator task item.
