Military Ground Mobility can be used to conduct cross country mobility analysis and enhance operational planning.
Terrain, weather, and time constitute the basic environmental setting for all military operations. These physical conditions, particularly the trafficability of terrain, affect military operations, systems, and personnel and act as constraints on combat options available to a commander. Where can a friendly or enemy unit travel? How quickly can they move from one location to another? Which types of equipment can navigate specific terrain?
While there are current analog and digital processes for conducting this terrain analysis, many leverage legacy technology, are too time/processing intensive, or are not available to most of the military force. Yet, accessible, and integrated cross country mobility analysis can lead to more informed military decision making.
The Military Ground Mobility solution delivers a set of capabilities that help Defense organizations compile terrain data for an area of responsibility, analyze the trafficability of terrain, and conduct cross county mobility analysis in support of operational planning.
