Introduction to Performance Management

Performance Management can be used to monitor key performance metrics and communicate progress made on strategic outcomes to the general public and other interested stakeholders.

Historically, government agencies have focused on process and compliance, but this management style has not yielded the expected results. As a result, many agencies are focusing on performance or results that benefit the public and attempting to increase public confidence in the results. Performance Management is typically implemented by government agencies that want to use evidence and results to foster a culture of continuous improvement, spend scarce budget resources wisely, and ensure that the community's needs are being prioritized.

The Performance Management solution delivers a set of capabilities that help you tabulate performance metrics, monitor performance using a series of dashboards and key performance indicators (KPIs), visualize performance for defined geographies, and share performance with the public through a community website.
