When you create a report, you may not need to display the contents of every subsection all the time. Rather than deleting a subsection, you can hide it. This way, you don't need to re-create it later. Once you hide a subsection, the updates to the report are reflected in the Contents pane and the report view. In the Contents pane, the subsection is not checked to show it is unavailable. In the report view, the subsection no longer appears and the next subsection in the report takes its place.
When a report section or supplemental page is hidden, the Contents pane is updated. The section is not checked and the page does not appear in the report document view.
Each report subsection has a ribbon tab of the same name, for example, Report Header, where you can control the size and appearance for that subsection. To hide a subsection, follow these steps:
- With a report open, select the report subsection you want to hide in the Contents pane.
- Click the ribbon tab for the subsection you want to hide, for example, Page Header.
- Uncheck Show subsection in the Size group.
The subsection is removed from the report view and appears unavailable in the Contents pane.
