00212: Display field <value> must be visible

The display field configured for the layer must be visible when publishing features.

Solution

Either make the display field visible or change the display field for the layer.

Make the field visible

Do the following to make a field visible:

1. In the Contents pane of the map, right-click the layer that contains the field, point to Data Design, and click Fields.
2. Check the Visible check box for the field.
3. Save the map and republish.

Change the display field

Do the following to change the display field for a layer:

1. In the Contents pane of the map, right-click the layer that contains the field, and click Properties.
2. Click Display to access properties related to how the layer is displayed in the map.
3. Choose a visible field from the Display field drop-down list or, if you have an expression defined on the field, click the Set an expression button and alter the display expression so it does not include the field that is not visible.
4. Click OK to close the Layer Properties dialog box.
5. Save the map and republish.
