You can rename file geodatabases, mobile geodatabases, and database connection files in your project. You cannot rename OGC GeoPackage files or most enterprise geodatabases.*
For instructions for mobile geodatabases, see Rename a mobile geodatabase.
*Beginning with enterprise geodatabases 11.0.0.3.0 in Microsoft SQL Server, you can restore the SQL Server database with a new name. This is done using Microsoft tools, though, and not ArcGIS. For more information, see the blog article Restoring SQL Server databases with a new name.
