Description
The tool attempted to modify the original input dataset and failed. This may be because the data format is not editable. For example, running Add Field on an SDC feature class will cause this error.
The dataset may also be locked by another application and cannot be modified.
Solution
If you're performing operations on the data, convert the data to an editable format, such as a geodatabase or shapefile.
If the dataset is being used by another application, close the application, and re-run the tool.
