Location sharing

Location sharing is an organization-wide capability that allows you to record where mobile workers are and where they have been.

Location sharing is enabled in your organization and configured for use in the Survey123 field app by an organization administrator in the organization settings.

When enabling location sharing, the organization administrator can require it, meaning that users cannot turn it off in the app. If the organization administrator has enabled but not required location sharing, the survey author can require it for an individual survey.

To require location sharing for an individual survey, click My Surveys > Settings > Location sharing > Require location sharing for this survey on the Survey123 website.

To learn more, see FAQ for survey creators and FAQ for submitters.

Note:
In organization settings, an organization administrator can configure a default map and a map gallery for use by the location sharing map that is displayed in the field app. To include map packages for offline use in the map gallery for the location sharing map, these packages must be manually associated with a survey by a survey author.
