Sign in to an ArcGIS account

To access ArcGIS for Microsoft 365 features and interactive functions, you must sign in to an ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise account that has privileges to create, analyze, and share content.

ArcGIS for Microsoft 365 supports the following account types:

  • Standard user account—Included with your ArcGIS for Microsoft 365 license. No sign-in is required. Click Continue or close the sign-in options and view the map.
    Note:

This account type has limited functionality. Functionality that is available to you as a Standard user or that requires an ArcGIS account are noted throughout this help documentation.

  • ArcGIS organizational account (ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise)—Access private and secure content from your ArcGIS organization. Depending on your organization's security settings and configuration, you can sign in using several options, based on how your ArcGIS administrator has configured your organization.

If you don't have an ArcGIS account, you can sign up for a free ArcGIS trial to get started. Public ArcGIS accounts are not supported.

Note:

Your sign in experience may vary from what is described in this topic based on how your ArcGIS administrator configured your organization. The ArcGIS sign-in pane may include any of the following options: ArcGIS account or organization login, SAML login, OpenID Connect login, or social media login. For more information about signing in to an ArcGIS account, see the Sign in topic in the ArcGIS Online help.

Tip:

If you are using ArcGIS for Power BI, when you sign in to your ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise organizational account, an authentication token is automatically sent to your browser to recognize you as an ArcGIS user, and your organization content immediately becomes available. If the token cannot be found—if you are using a different browser or computer, for example—you must sign in to access premium features.
