Layer transparency

The ArcGIS Map Web Part allows you to configure the transparency of each layer in the map. This allows you to see more or less of certain layers so you can emphasize specific data. Transparency can be configured for all layers, regardless of the layer's data source, including the basemap.

  1. Open the Map Contents panel and select the desired layer.
  2. Click the Transparency button on the Layer tab of the Web Part ribbon. The transparency slider appears in a drop-down window.

  3. Move the slider up or down to change the layer's transparency. Moving the slider bar up makes the layer more transparent; moving it down makes the layer more opaque.
