This is an archive related to a previous version of Esri Maps for SharePoint. If you need the current version go to http://doc.arcgis.com/en/maps-for-sharepoint/.
Esri Maps for SharePoint comes with a list called Esri Maps Base Maps that is used to configure the Basemap gallery for the Silverlight-based Map Web Part. SharePoint users with read/write permissions on this list can add, remove, and edit the basemaps in the Basemap gallery by manipulating the items in this list.
The following table describes the columns in the list:
Identifier of the basemap list item.
Determines the label that appears in the Basemap gallery.
Uniform resource locator (URL) for the thumbnail image. The default thumbnails are 85x60 pixels. For the best results, use basemap thumbnails that are the same size.
Base Map Type
Type of basemap. Available types are ArcGIS Server, Bing Maps, and OpenStreetMap.
Map Service URL
URL for the map service endpoint.
As with other Esri Maps for SharePoint configuration lists and libraries, you can browse to the Esri Maps Base Maps list using the Esri Maps for SharePoint Administration links on the Site Settings page as shown in the following steps:
Once it has been saved, the new basemap is available in the Basemap gallery for you to use.
The basemap is removed from the list and is no longer available in the Basemap gallery.
