About the ArcGIS Map Web Part

The ArcGIS Map Web Part enables a rich display of SharePoint lists and ArcGIS Server services on an interactive map. The ArcGIS Map Web Part is the Silverlight-based web part and is available in both SharePoint 2010 and SharePoint 2013 on-premises.

With the ArcGIS Map Web Part, you can do the following:

  • Use ArcGIS Online, Bing Maps, or ArcGIS for Server map services as basemaps.
  • Add data from SharePoint lists, ArcGIS for Server, and GeoRSS feeds on top of your basemap.
  • Open web maps from ArcGIS Online.
  • Define the appearance of datasets (symbolize) using single, class breaks, or unique value symbols.
  • Configure the functionality that is available in run mode.
  • Display point features using clustering or heat maps.
  • Configure the appearance of pop-up windows. Specify the pop-up window style and fields to display when you hover over map features.
  • View tabular data for datasets within the map.
  • Select records in the map and see them highlighted in the table and vice versa.
  • Zoom to layers and selected features.
  • Find items within a specified distance of point features.
  • Export the tabular data from selected items to a CSV or TXT file.
  • Print maps.
  • Extend the web part with custom tools and behaviors based on the ArcGIS API for Silverlight and the ArcGIS Extensibility SDK for Silverlight.
