Upgrade Esri Maps for SAP BusinessObjects

Upgrading Esri Maps for SAP BusinessObjects from a previous version involves replacing the components from the earlier version with new components and transferring any preconfigured settings to the newer version. Be sure to create backups of any previously configured files before you begin.
Upgrade server-side components
- Make a backup of your existing Esri Maps for SAP BusinessObjects configuration and proxy settings:
- settings.js—<Tomcat installation>\webapps\em4bobj\dashb\configuration\settings.js
- proxy.config—<Tomcat installation>\webapps\em4bobj\dashb\proxy.config
- Extract the contents of the new Esri Maps for SAP BusinessObjects version to a temporary location on your system. Extract the two installation subfolders, em4bobj_server_install and em4bobj_client_install.
- Delete the existing em4bobj folder from your web server's webapps folder.
For example: <Tomcat installation>\webapps\em4bobj
- From the extracted server installation folder, copy the em4bobj folder to your webapps folder.
For example: <Tomcat installation>\webapps\em4bobj
- Using a standard text editor, open the new settings.js file and reapply any configurations you had previously set.

- Using a standard text editor, open the proxy.config file and reapply any configurations you had previously set.

- Restart your web server.
The upgrade of server-side components is complete.
Upgrade client-side components
- To upgrade Esri Maps Designer, follow these steps:
- From the new client installation folder, double-click the setup.exe file and follow the instructions in the Wizard.
When the setup is complete, deploy the add-on in SAP Dashboards and verify that the properties file is properly configured according to your environment.
- To deploy the new version of the Esri Maps for SAP BusinessObjects add-on, do the following:
- Start SAP Dashboards. From the main menu, click File > Manage Add-Ons.
- From the list of installed add-ons, choose Esri Maps for SAP BusinessObjects and click Remove.
The older version of the add-on is removed from SAP Dashboards.
- Click Install and browse to the location of the newer version of the EsriMapsForBOBJ.xlx file. Click Open.
- Click Close.
- At the prompt, click Exit to close SAP Dashboards.
