Supported environments

Esri Maps for SAP BusinessObjects is deployed as an add-on to SAP Dashboards. For Esri Maps for SAP BusinessObjects to operate properly, Esri assumes an operational configuration of the SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence platform and SAP Dashboards. Esri tests Esri Maps for BusinessObjects only in software environments certified or supported by SAP BusinessObjects BI; not all SAP-supported environments have been tested or certified. Required software

Before you install the Esri Maps for SAP BusinessObjects components, the following software components must be installed and properly configured on your system:

  • SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence platform 4.0 SP08 or later
  • SAP Dashboards 4.0 SP08 or later
  • Adobe AIR 3.7 or later

SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence platform support

Esri Maps for SAP BusinessObjects is a Java web application; it supports Java application servers that require standard J2EE deployment archives such as .war files. Although Esri has performed rigorous testing only on SAP BusinessObjects BI platforms deployed on Apache Tomcat web application servers, it is expected that the application will operate in any certified configuration of SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence platform 4.0 SP08 or later installed on a Java web application server running Java Servlet 2.5 or later.

Esri Maps for SAP BusinessObjects server-side components must be installed on a 64-bit system.

Esri Maps for SAP BusinessObjects is certified for the following versions of SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence platform:

  • 4.0 SP08 / SP09 / SP10
  • 4.1 SP03 / SP04 / SP05

SAP Dashboards support

Esri tests Esri Maps for SAP BusinessObjects on a subset of the client operating systems supported by SAP. On the client side, Esri Maps for SAP BusinessObjects is expected to operate in a certified configuration of SAP Dashboards 4.0 SP08 or later.

Esri Maps for SAP BusinessObjects is certified for the following versions of SAP Dashboards:

Support

Esri Maps for SAP BusinessObjects requires an already configured and functional SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence platform environment with its required web server environment (such as built-in Tomcat or optional third-party supported web server environment), other supporting applications or database servers, and a configured and functional SAP BusinessObjects Dashboards environment. SAP Technical Support aids in the deployment of SAP BusinessObjects with these components. Esri Technical Support aids in the deployment (and use) of the Esri Maps for SAP BusinessObjects add-on within an operational configuration of SAP BusinessObjects.

Esri Technical Support analysts are not experts in all possible configurations of SAP BusinessObjects. Similarly, SAP Technical Support engineers are not experts in all aspects of an operational configuration of Esri Maps for SAP BusinessObjects. If you are experiencing a problem configuring SAP BusinessObjects, it is often more efficient to obtain help from SAP Technical Support. Similarly, if you are experiencing a configuration problem with third-party components within the larger SAP BusinessObjects environment, such as the dedicated web server environment, it is more efficient to get help from the third party's support organization. In cases where a problem is deemed to be in Esri Maps for SAP BusinessObjects, Esri Technical Support can be available to work with SAP Technical Support, third-party vendors, or their consultants.
