Enable Open Data capabilities

Open Data can be enabled within your My Organization page. Open Data must be enabled first, before the site can be configured and items shared on your Open Data site.

To enable Open Data capabilities, complete the following steps:

  1. Verify that you are signed in as an Administrator of your organization.
  2. Click My Organization at the top of the site, and click Edit Settings.
  3. Click Open Data on the left side of the page.
  4. Click Enable Open Data.

Your organization's Open Data site is now enabled, and you are provided a URL for the Manage Sites page.

  5. To disable Open Data capabilities, click Disable Open Data.

Once you enable Open Data capabilities, a group is created in your ArcGIS Online organization titled Open Data Collaboration Group. It is important that you do not modify or delete this group from ArcGIS Online. It is used to house members of your Open Data team, which you can manage from within the ArcGIS Open Data administrative app.

Next, specify groups and items to be shared on the Open Data site.
