Export

The Export tool allows you to save the active state of your map as a web map or scene. The saved web map contains all layers currently present in the table of contents, which can include the active design layers, operational layers, and analysis layers, and has the same map extent as the active map. This web map also has the same properties set in the active map, such as layer visibility and transparency. Like other web map items, this web map can be embedded into other ArcGIS applications including Story Maps and ArcGIS for Office.

Export a web map

Web maps are designed to communicate a key piece of information related to your planning project. This could include a map showing proposed alternatives, a final plan, or a combination of analysis layers and outcomes. Because these maps are standard web maps, they can be leveraged in a multitude of ways across ArcGIS.

To export a web map, complete the following steps:

  1. Click Open Menu Open Menu at the top of the app and click Export.
  2. Choose Export Web Map.
  3. Provide the title, summary, description, and tags for the web map in the Export Web Map dialog box.
  4. Click Save.

The web map is saved to your project folder on the My Content tab of the Contents page of your ArcGIS organization. The active map, table of contents, and active scenario remain the same.

Export a web scene

Export a scene from ArcGIS GeoPlanner by completing the following steps:

  2. Choose Export Web Scene.
  3. Provide the title, summary, description, and tags for the web scene in the Export Web Scene dialog box.
  4. Click Save.

The web scene is saved to your project folder on the My Content tab of the Contents page of your ArcGIS organization. The active map, table of contents, and active scenario remain the same.
